THE ULTIMATE RULEBOOK

Hello dear. The title says it all. YES you do need to read them. I realise it is a boring business, but it’s for the best honest :-D Make sure to understand everything and NOT break any rules or the admins will be forced to take action.

Joining

• If you plan to create an account and not even bother to create a profile, you might as well leave now. This board is not a place to visit only when you feel bored.
  
  
• By submitting a profile, members are committing themselves to the board as well as saying you have read and understand all of these rules. If you are caught messing up we will not take "I missed that in the rules" as an excuse.
  
  
• If you need to leave for a period of time, post in the appropriate category or inform one of the admins.

Applying

• The application form needs to be filled it out CORRECTLY and with
  CARE.
  
  
• If you do not use the code given, the application will be IGNORED.
  
  
• Once the application has been submitted, please DON’T send messages to the admins about acceptance. Like you, we have real life to attend to so be patient and wait at least 48 hrs before catching an admin’s attention.

Character

• No one is perfect, therefore perfect characters are not allowed. Your character may have good qualities, but that doesn't mean they never make mistakes. Make sure there's that something that sets your character apart from the rest.
  
  
• When it comes to the face claim, do not use unknown face claims or site models. If you're desperate to use one of them, then you'd better have a pretty good application.

The Genetic Cocktails

• When you create a character, it must have a list of three animals.
  
• The first animal on the list is your primary animal. This is the animal that you have he most control over the abilities.
  
  
• The second and third animals are simply added traits that give your character extra abilities.

Roleplaying

• All levels of experience are accepted, as long as the person in question can post up to the word count of 300.
  
  
• Please one character per account. You may have as many characters and accounts as you can keep up with. But don't go too crazy.
  
  
• One line posters are NOT tolerated. We have a minimum word count of 300 words. That's really not that much. If you don't think you can keep up with that, then this probably isn't the site for you. I understand people have off days, but every post can not be too short.
  
  
• We prefer replies to be in third person, keep in mind you're not writing your own diary. And NO slang language
  
  
• When you're character is speaking use quotation marks (" "), and for thoughts use Italic, but you are welcome to get more interesting with the coding if you enjoy those things.
  
  
• Godmodding and powerplay is FORBIDDEN
  
  
• OOCs should be AVOIDED in roleplay.
  
  
• Creativity and originality are encouraged, especially when it comes to coding which makes posts look more attractive.

Starting Out

• All characters under 18 must start out in the Orphanage.
  
  
• These characters must remain in the orphanage until they have at least 5 posts. These posts can be in one thread, or in several threads,
  
  
• After having the 5 pots, they must role-play their escape, or wait to turn 18, or get yourself adopted, before being allowed to roleplay in DarkLight City.
  Housing
  • DarkLightians are not allowed just go out an buy houses. You must buy them from the shop. Same with anything else man made that you can live in. If you want a tent or something to set up somewhere, then you have buy them too.
    
    
  • The only free housing isn't really housing. Some DarkLightians live in abandoned buildings and hallways underground in the sewers. Others live in the National Forest in caves, or they build shelters out of tree limbs and such things.
    
    
  • This is just to make the game a little more realistic. If people really did go run away, they can't just go out and buy a house.
  
  
  
  The Money System
  
  • Each member gets 500 dollars when they join. After that they get 25 dollars per post, and after 20 posts you get another 500.
  
  
  
  Rating
  
  
  • Proboards is strictly PG 13
    
    
  • Mature content is FORBIDDEN. Violence, sex, and drug-use and cursing may occur, but can NOT graphic. Anything graphic will NOT be tolerated. You will be warned and the post will be deleted.
    
    
  • As far as pregnancies go, you must have been role-playing with the "significant other" for at least one month. You must role-play your character being pregnant for at LEAST a month. Longer is preferred but I understand that people get excited to see that baby!
  
  
  Anything else
  
  
  • You are allowed to have as many characters as you like, as long as you keep the whole lot active.
    
    
  • Always respect the staff and other members.
    
    
  • If you're having a bad day, either keep off the board, or try to keep it under control. We have a whole board just for ranting. Nothing about other members please.
    
    
  • We would also appreciate if you don't spend your whole time on the c-box, keep in mind that you are here to roleplay and it's not nice to keep others waiting for a long time.
  
  
  In Closing
  
  We will be watching you, so do not break any of the above rules. Just like in baseball you have 3 strikes before you're out... or as i like to call it banned and deleted. Behave yourselves and most important of all, have fun :] We also reserve the right to change and alter these rules however we want and whenever we want so check back often.
